  5. Being deaf is NOT awful. I am sorry but doing this to a baby is too early. What is wrong with being deaf? What is wrong with accepting the gift from God? It is a blessing culture, not a curse. It’s wonderful that he can hear but so young without having a choice. What if he prefers to be deaf? There is nothing wrong with being deaf. I was born hearing but became deaf at age three and I have never been more happy. I communicate more than well with hearing people and deaf as well. None of this is a curse. You people need to understand that. It’s okay wanting to do this but how can you feel sorry about something that you don’t understand? I went to youth leadership camp for the deaf, deaf university and now i am an actress and also majoring in psychology.

Being deaf isn’t a curse. I am happy that the mother is grateful for his son to hear again BUT just keep in mind… being deaf isn’t terrible. It’s a blessing… beautiful world with amazing language and a culture to be proud of.

  8. I don’t see anywhere, where someone has stated that being deaf is a curse or that it’s something awful. Having a baby is a blessing, and one that we should thank god for everyday, but no where in the law books does it say that it’s Child Abuse for doing what you thought was best for your child.

Medicine and Science have come a long way and now they are able to give a baby/child the ability to hear, what a great gift to give to someone. For those of you who are deaf, if this was available when you were a baby/child and your parents did this for you, would you be wanting the cops called on them reporting child abuse, or would you be pissed at your parents for giving you the ability to hear??????
